Global Energy Up is a certification body for management systems and a validation and verification body for greenhouse-gas information. We audit and decide; we do not consult.

Straight answers

Common questions.

  • Are your certificates accredited?
Not yet. We operate to ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 for certification and ISO/IEC 17029:2019 for validation and verification, and accreditation is in progress. Certificates are currently issued without an accreditation mark, and no accreditation claim will be made before it is granted.
  • Do you provide consultancy to prepare the system?
No. We do not provide management-system consultancy or prepare GHG statements, and we do not certify or verify any system or statement on which a group entity has provided consultancy.
  • How long does certification take?
It depends on the size of the organization, its sites, the complexity of its activities and the readiness of its system. We calculate the audit duration when reviewing the application and state it in the written quotation.
  • How long is a certificate valid?
Three years, provided the surveillance audits in years one and two are passed. It is renewed through a recertification audit before it expires.
  • Can several standards be audited together?
Yes. Where systems are integrated they can be audited in one visit; duration is calculated per standard and then adjusted for the actual degree of integration.
  • What happens if a nonconformity is found?
A major nonconformity requires a correction and corrective action that we verify before the decision; a minor one requires an accepted correction plan before the decision.
  • How do I check that a certificate is valid?
Send the certificate number and organization name to contact@energy-up.co and we will confirm its status and scope in writing.
  • Do you verify greenhouse-gas statements?
Yes, under ISO 14064-1:2018, ISO 14064-2:2019, ISO 14064-3:2019, ISO 14067:2018 and ISO 14068-1:2023. EGAC accreditation is in progress; anyone needing an accredited statement now can contact Energy Up International at vvb.energy-up.net.
